Draft One Development

After finishing our first draft and receiving numerous feedback referring to it as too trailer like and too much of the story line being given away, we decided to firstly re-film the running scene in order to fix a few minor issues and then to re-order much of the film and cut many scenes which give away the story line, for example when Nick shouts "it's you", the flashback scene and when we see Mia placing a pill in the glass of water. By leaving the opening more ambiguous it causes the audience to want to watch more of the film in contrast to previously where there was very little development room available.
In addition to these changes, we also added a new scene to help build up tension towards the end of the sequence. The scene we have added is Sid finding the files on him but as the file loads the psychiatrist is walking up the stairs. Constantly flashing between the shots causes the scene itself to speed up and creates a sense of fear in the audience who will be urging Sid to move faster or to get out.
I believe that these are positive changes which add to the tension building which is a common convention for thriller films.
